How well do you know your shoulders? Do you want more upper body strength or more stability and less wrist pain in arm balances? Do you have a lot of upper back or shoulder tension? Feel really slumped?

Come and get to know your shoulders and learn how to:

  • Improve your posture

  • Effectively build strength

  • Improve mobility

  • Bear weight on your hands without hurting your wrists

  • Ease tension in your shoulders and upper back

We will explore the wrists, elbows, shoulder joints, shoulder blades, ribs, and spine individually and together to build awareness, control, and coordination through the whole shoulder girdle. All levels welcome!

What does it mean to have a strong core? How can you know if you’re working your core effectively? What if you have a diastasis? In this workshop, we’ll go over all the basics of the core: its job, how it functions, and what it’s telling you as you’re exercising and moving. You’ll learn how to start building stability and feel the effect of a responsive, integrated core.

Is your yoga practice cultivating hip mobility or not? How “open” are your hips? What does that even mean, and why does it matter? Come and explore hip mobility and stability and discover how the rest of your body relates to your hips.

We’ll explore all the ranges of motion that build “open” and balanced hips. We’ll also take a look at common hip openers, uncover potential pitfalls, and reconstruct them so that you are building support, strength, and mobility, all at the same time. We’ll also play with fun, progressively challenging movements that can easily be integrated into a yoga practice. All levels welcome!
